Each tide leaves behind a trace of the world above and below—organic and man-made. Tide’s Remains highlights the delicate strand line, where shells, sand, and stones intertwine with remnants of marine plastic and fishing tackle. The plastic in this piece was collected on my daily dog walks, where my pockets always seem to fill with washed-up fragments—sitting beside a cuttlefish bone, a whelk egg case, or tangled in seaweed. There is always plastic. The beauty of the shoreline remains, but so too does the evidence of our presence, a quiet but urgent call for protection and change.
