A discarded surfboard fin, recovered from the Sussex shoreline and transformed into a painted seascape beneath a luminous full moon.

Once designed to carve through water, the fin now carries a different journey. Its original purpose remains embedded within the object, while its weathered surface becomes a quiet reminder of the sea's ability to both shape and return the things we leave behind.

Part of The Water Gave Us Gifts collection, this work explores how discarded materials can become vessels for beauty, reflection and renewal. Rather than concealing the object's history, its scratches, abrasions and signs of marine exposure remain visible, allowing its previous life to become part of the artwork itself.

Created using acrylic, mixed media and shoreline materials, each piece is entirely unique.
