The Water Gave Us Cycles

£75.00

The Water Gave Us Cycles is painted onto discarded marine plastic recovered from a Sussex Bay shoreline, likely from a boat. A moonlit seascape unfolds across its weathered surface, reflecting the recurring rhythms that shape coastal life: tides, moon phases, seasons, erosion, recovery, loss, and return.

The found object retains the memory of its journey through the sea. Transformed into a quiet landscape of reflection and light, it speaks to both the beauty of natural cycles and the human traces carried within them. For me, living closely with the sea has brought a deeper awareness of these rhythms and the calm, perspective, and continuity they can offer.
